My Personal Experience

With The Web

When I started to build my web page, I stopped and asked myself why I wanted to do this. There was no reason for me to build a web page other than to have a page of my own on the web. It actually seemed a bit useless to have one.

So I stopped building and started to go to pages that others had already made. I probably spent about a week looking at other pages. I then started looking for what they had in common. There was nothing in common with most of them--except perhaps trying to win an award for the best page.

Then one day, there were two pages that were almost identical. They were on the same subject, but each told of a different experience they had regarding that subject. Both were interesting experiences and gave me two opposite views to think about.

Then it suddenly dawned on me what all web pages have in common. It wasn't so much that the makers were trying to get votes for their page--it was more of a personal touch that caught my eye. So, armed with my new understanding of what to look for, I went back to some of the pages I had already looked at and reevaluated them. Sure, there are many attractive ones which are built with a lot of thought and creativity. There are many different types of people on the web with many different subjects and views to share,
but all of them have something in common. I found each of them want to share his/her life's experiences and accomplishments with others on the web. I found that all of them want to share the happiness, heartaches, or accomplishments they have experienced in their particular field of interest.

I found that most of them have a lot of love for their fellow man. They are willing to help the other person with their problems in whatever way they can. They are hoping their contribution may make at least a little bit of difference in someone's life.

I have found out what a web page can do. Our words and pictures could very well bring a bit of cheer or hope to a reader. Our words may offer encouragement and motivation to others. I know from personal experience that I very often get a much-needed lift from words, a poem, a shared picture, or music that I find while surfing the Internet.

I would like to thank each of you who has worked so long and hard to build that special web page you so kindly share with us.
