You
DO NOT have to be connected to the Internet to check/change
the following settings. It
may be easier to print this before you attempt to check/change settings |
1a.
Double-click the Outlook Express icon on your Desktop
or under the Start Menu
1b.
When Outlook Express opens, it may try to dial in. You do not have to
be connected to Internet, so press Cancel (or Work Offline). If an error
message appears, press OK (or Hide)
2a.
In Outlook Express, click on Tools at the top, then choose
Accounts

3 The Internet Accounts dialog box appears.
3a. If you are adding your IOCC.com e-mail the first time, click the Add
button and select Mail

3b. If you are changing your IOCC.com e-mail settings, first click the account under the
"Account" heading then click the Properties button.
4. Follow the directions and enter your name and email address
accordingly. When it asks for "servers" enter the information
below:

My incoming
mail server is a "POP3" server.
-
Incoming
mail (POP3): pop.iocc.com
-
Outgoing
mail (SMTP): mail.iocc.com
-
Account
name: your_username (without @iocc.com extention)
-
Check the box
"My server requires authentication"
Click the
"Settings" button.
Click the circle
"Use same settings as my incoming mail server". Click OK to exit.

Click OK to
exit.
IMPORTANT
NOTE: Outlook Express 5 needs safety updates to protect you from a multitude
of Microsoft-targeting viruses and worms. To download the
security patches, click the Start button and select Windows
Update at the very top. The link will take you to a website. In the
Product Updates section, select all of the the Outlook Security Updates
and download them.
