Introduction
and Explanation:
This Netscape problem pertains to IOCC.com Customers who have used an
IOCC Setup CD to get connected. This disc includes
a version of Netscape Communicator 4.5 with a minor bug. The error makes
all of your emails stay on our server and make a copy to your computer's
hard drive. Keeping emails on our server clogs up your Inbox; disabling
this option will prevent major problems from occurring in the future.
1a.
Double-click the Netscape Communicator icon on your Desktop
screen
1b. If Netscape wants you to dial in, Cancel the
connection, then press OK on the "unable to locate server" error
1c. In Netscape Navigator, click on Edit from
the file menu at the top left of the screen. (shown below)

2. Click the option Preferences
3a.
In Preferences, DOUBLE-click the Mail & Newsgroups
category on the left
3b. If you did this correctly, there should be a minus
(-) beside Mail & Newsgroups
4.
Click ONCE on the sub-category titled Mail Servers
5. Click on the Edit... button on the far right.
(shown below)

6a. Under Mail Server's Properties, click on
the POP tab at the top. The Leave messages on
server option should be UNCHECKED as shown below

6b. If the Leave messages on server option is now unchecked,
press OK
7. Keep pressing OK until you have exited the
Netscape Preferences
8. Close all Netscape windows completely
9. When you are ready to get online, reopen Netscape Communicator
and check your email under the Messenger section
10. Your emails will now be directly routed to your computer's
Inbox
Netscape
Communicator 4.5 is not the newest version of the software. Download
a free copy at Downloads
No preferences will change as a result of this upgrade and all email
information will be kept intact.
