the following settings. It
may be easier to print this before you attempt to check/change settings |
If you used the IOCC Setup CD to install Netscape, click here to read about a minor email bug
1. Double-click the Netscape Communicator icon on your Desktop screen

When in Netscape, click on Edit in the top left, then
Preferences

In Preferences, click on the plus (+) beside Mail
& Newsgroups
3b. You will then see the sub-categories (Identity, Mail Servers,
etc.)

Click on the sub-category entitled Identity, and fill
in your name and email in the appropriate blanks

Then, click on the Mail Servers category and press the
Add button. Make sure you have nothing in the box to
the left of the Add button

You should fill in the boxes like shown below:
6b. When finished, press OK
7a.
Now, you are back to the Mail Servers screen
7b. This time look at the Outgoing Mail Server
section and fill in the blanks according to this picture below:
7c. After you're done changing the boxes, press OK.
8. Close Netscape Communicator completely
9. Re-Open Netscape Communicator, making sure you are connected to the Internet
10a.
At the top left of Netscape, click Communicator, and
select the Messenger option
10b.
When Messenger is finished loading, press the Get
Msg button and enter your password to receive your email!

Communicator 4.5 is not the latest version of the software. Download
a free copy at Downloads
No preferences will change as a result of this upgrade.
